Terms of use

Impossible Atlas is an entertainment tool for live performances. It is a hosted web app that runs on our servers; nothing is downloaded or installed. By using it you agree to these terms.

Do not use the service to harass anyone, to collect information about a person without their knowledge, or in breach of applicable law. Performances are temporary by design, and we may end a performance that is being used in those ways.

What you can expect from us

We provide the service with reasonable care and keep it working as described on this site. If it does not, you have the rights the law gives you: repair of the problem, and where that is not possible, a price reduction or your money back. We will also keep the app updated for as long as a consumer can reasonably expect, including the security updates needed for it to keep working.

Nothing in these terms takes away or limits a right you have by law as a consumer, and where a term and the law disagree, the law wins.

Your licence

A purchase gives one personal licence for the product bought (Impossible Atlas and Phantom Draw are separate products). The licence is activated once, on one account, and cannot be shared, resold or moved to another account.

One device performs at a time. The device you sign in on takes control of performances; your other signed-in devices keep receiving notifications but cannot start or freeze a performance. To move control to another device, open the dashboard there and enter the code we e-mail to your sign-in address. Moving control takes it away from the previous device straight away, and only one of your devices holds it at any time.

If you delete your account, the licence ends with it. It is not freed for someone else and we cannot move it to a new account; a replacement would be a new purchase. Your performance history and settings go with the account. Records we must keep for tax and accounting — the order itself, the invoice — stay with our shop and our bookkeeping. Ask us before deleting an account if you are unsure.

Performances

A licence includes 200 performances. A performance counts when its pin is frozen. A performance whose pin is never frozen costs nothing, and every practice performance is free.

When the 200 are used up you have 10 more, and the next pack you buy pays those back. For example: if you used 3 of the 10, a pack of 100 leaves you 97 available. After those 10 the app will not start a new performance until you buy a pack. A performance that has already started always finishes.

Performance packs do not expire. They are added to the licence of the account they are applied to and are as personal as the licence itself. If a pack is refunded or charged back, its performances come off that licence, and if you had already used some of them your balance can go below zero.

Withdrawing within 14 days

As a consumer you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of the day the contract was concluded, without giving a reason. Use the withdrawal form or simply write to us; a clear statement is enough, and you do not need an account to send one.

At checkout you may ask us to start the service during that period. That is a request to begin early, and it is not a waiver: asking for it does not end your right to withdraw, and neither does activating the app, signing in or using performances.

Our own refund policy, in addition

Separately from the right above, and on top of it, we refund an initial purchase on request while the licence has run no more than 10 billable performances. Ask us and we refund it. This is something we choose to offer, and it does not limit your statutory rights in any way — including for performance packs bought separately, where your statutory rights apply to that purchase on its own.

A refunded, cancelled or charged-back purchase ends or suspends what it paid for: performances and notifications stop for that licence, or a refunded pack's performances come off it. Your account and your settings stay.

Map content is provided by Google Maps and its use is additionally governed by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. Impossible Atlas is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google.
